Vector Self-Portrait

Vector_Portrait_LeeshaM.png

To create this self-portrait, I used the program Adobe Illustrator. Through the portrait, I was hoping to show people that are zombies are people too. Actually, the photo of me i used to create this was me wearing zombie make-up, and I thought it would be something fun to do, over just a basic cheesy smile. Besides, who doesn't love themselves some zombies? I know I do. I was -not- trying to do the "Thriller" pose, but it sort of came out that way. A was attempting an attack pose, as if this zombie was going to jump right out of the piece at you. It's been eating some flesh, as you can plainly see, and it's only hungry for more. This was one of my first Adobe Illustrator pieces.

The above image of my portrait shows just the basic, main layer of color that I used by removing all of the highlight and shadow layers from the first image. As you can see, this takes out the detail of the face, neck, hands, and clothing. I used the pen tool to create the shadows, using the fill option with gradients to create most of the shadows. The highlights were just simple pen tool paths with a solid often 1 or 2 point stroke. The hair, nails, and teeth, are pen tool paths filled with a gradient, while the neck, mouth, and arm gore is a both a 2 and 4 point stroke on the brush tool.

And this, is a screenshot of all of my paths and some of my layers.
